Job Description

Bioinformatics technicians with strong computer science and molecular biology backgrounds. Candidate should possess advanced computer skills, including software programming and database management skills. The ability to use statistical software programs and interactive websites to retrieve data is essential. The candidate should also be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of collecting and analyzing large amounts of data.

Responsibilities

Gather and analyze information for use in bioinformatics research activities related to agriculture, health, and environment.

Support the team with all bioinformatics related needs

Support the team with all high-performance computing needs

Write reports and maintain in house code and databases

Minimum requirement

Master’s degree in bioinformatics or related fields, or

Bachelor’s in computer science with 5 years full time related experience

Necessary skill

computer science (concentration in data science is preferred)

Strong programming skill including python

High performance computing

Strong mathematics and statistics background

Molecular biology

Computational biology and genomics.
