UN Women Country Office Morocco is looking for an intern for a 6-month period to support the Gender Responsive Planning and Budgeting Programme.

Description of Responsibilities & Learning Objectives

Under the supervision of the Programme Analyst, the intern will:

  1. Support implementation of GRB work plan activities  

  • Support capacity development, technical assistance, communication and research activities;

  • Help develop case studies, exercises, quizzes, and key supporting documents to be used during training and capacity development activities;

  • Review documentation, reports, survey results and correspondence;

  • Support the Programme Analyst with annual and narrative reports;

  • Carry out background research on various topics related to GRB;

  • Plan meetings, send out invitations, manage the GRB Team agenda

  • Support the team in preparing national and/or regional events (virtual or face-to-face), expert consultations or workshops

  • Support administrative and financial tasks, such as follow-up with service providers/consultants and payments.

  1. Support communication activities and knowledge management in the area of GRB

  • Support in content development for easy-to-use knowledge products including briefs, website materials, concept notes, technical papers for the CE-BSG, UN Women ROAS and HQ;

  • Synthesize and summarize research outcomes and lessons learned;

  • Create and adapt Power Point Presentations;

  • Draft talking points / speeches

  • Provide inputs to GRB social media contents;

  • Ensure document translations and summaries.

  1. Support partnership development, donor relations and UN Women coordination efforts

  • Ensure efficient coordination between the different internal and external stakeholders of the GRB Programme

  • Take meeting minutes and ensure information sharing with all stakeholders;

  • Support to UN Coordination  and the UNCT SWAP Gender scorecard action plan; 

    Learning Objectives:

    By the end of the internship the intern should have a good working knowledge of:

    1. In-depth knowledge of the main gender issues and inequalities in Morocco

    2. Operational and ‘hands-on’ experience in substantive aspects of development management and programming within UN Women, especially in the area of Gender Responsive Planning and Budgeting

    3. The intern should leave with an improved understanding of gender equality and women’s empowerment and how UN Women’s work is changing global perspectives about thes area.

        Required Skills and Experience

    1. Qualifications

       

      Education:

      • University studies in one of the following disciplines: Law, International Relations or Political Sciences, International development, Gender and development, Social development or other relevant subjects is required.

      • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation, or Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program which is part of a degree programme and undertake the internship as part of the programme requirement.

        Language:

        • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English, French and Arabic.

          computer skils : 

          • The intern must have good knowledge of Internet and Microsoft tools (MS Word, Excel, power point). 

            Renumeration : 

            Interns who are not in receipt of financial support from other sources such as universities or other institutions will receive a stipend from UN Women to partially subsidize their basic living costs for the duration of the internship.
