DEPARTMENT: Purchasing

REPORTS TO: Purchasing Manager

Responsibilites

Lead purchasing activities for all purchased components and material as a key member of the program core team (RFQ package preparation/Send RFQ to supplier panel agreed by commodity buyer/Negotiation/Supplier Management). Escalate to project team in case of any document missing.
  • Work with Engineering at initial design concept to update target cost until design freeze and negotiate piece price and tooling investment modification after design changes.
  • Evaluate, assess and negotiate suppliers quotations by reviewing the CBD for parts and tooling to ensure commercial, logistics and timing objectives are achieved. Evaluate and provide component costing based on program BOM.
  • Prepare sourcing decision, in accordance to Varroc Purchasing Procedures and work with commodity buyer to leverage best overall landed costs and conditions while ensuring suppliers are capable from a capacity perspective.
  • Ensure purchased components meet all program milestones, track and coordinate progress between suppliers, program manager and development team (maintain tracking files in the Sharepoint and Enterproj tasks/VQF updated according to management expectation). Escalate in case of any deviation.
  • Resolve supplier performance and commercial issues for the program until SOP+90.
  • Communicate supplier risks to project team.
  • Effectively communicate with development team members throughout Varroc facilities worldwide including the generation and presentation of project status updates to management.
  • Supports purchasing aspects of the supplier cost reduction process (Localization, Econ, resourcing, benchmarking, consignment, payment terms, incoterms).
  • Manage all the PO for sample parts, design changes and tool investment. Create and update Schedule Agreement to allow MP&L direct order management.
  • Make capacity study in case of mix or volume change in program. Share piece price and investment impact with program manager.
  • Make capacity verification for carry over parts.
Education Requirement(s)

University Degree in Technical field of study

Experience Requiremens

5 to 10 years of experience in purchasing.
  • 2 years of experience in related field within Automotive Industry.
Additional Information
  • SAP software experience is needed.
  • English language at Advanced level minimum.
